Traditional Weaving Mill

After 20 years being financed by the Greek National Tourism Organisation the Community of Oia, in order to maintain the Greek tradition of weaving, has taken, since 2000, the economic responsibility for the maintenance cost of the traditional weaving mill of Oia.

In 2001, the newly formed Community Development Corporation took over the operation of Oia and its exploitation.

The mill is located twenty meters east of the Citizens Service Center of Oia (KEP), has 3 looms and is staffed by two weavers. The products are carpets, rugs, curtains, beddings, tablecloths, cushions and mats.

The showroom and the shop of the weaving mill is located next to the municipal offices of Oia. You will find there a wide variety of items produced in classical, and modern colors and designs suitable for all types of houses and hotels.

Open to the public daily, from 7:30 to 15:00.
