Oia (Greek: Οία, pronounced [ˈi.a]) is a community on the islands of Thira (Santorini) and Thirassia, in the Cyclades, Greece.
The community shares the island of Santorini with the Municipality of Thira, and is located in the northwesternmost part of the island.
Apart from the famous sunset and the fantastic view from our Caldera, we strongly recommend to discover the alleys of Oia and Foinikia, walking trough the marvelous captain houses, the lava cave houses, the country houses and the canavas of unique architecture and beauty. Taste the local cuisine, the fresh sea-food and the fishes, the agricultural products and the high quality wines that represent the power of the arid Theraic land. Along the way you can enjoy the unique, colorful landscape.
Enjoy the extremely clean sea waters at the beaches of Baxedes, Koloumbos, Katharos and at the picturesque small ports of Ammoudi and Armeni.
The dream is not complete unless you go for a walk in the island of Thirasia that was detached from Santorini during the powerful prehistoric eruption. From there, you have the chance to admire the terrific view of the whole island and have a close look at the volcanic group. At the same time, the authentic island scene will provide you a peaceful shelter for your holidays.
